It's that time of year again!

Be ready to be bombarded with swimming pictures for the next 6+ months! Hunter has been bugging me for the past week to blow up this pool. I figured since it's going to be in the upper 80s/low 90s (yes, you read that right and it's only March!) now is a good as time as ever.

They are having a blast playing slip n slide and splashing water everywhere. Now we just need to start putting all of our extra pennies toward the water bill.

The Hole

Ryan thought it would be fun for the boys if he dug them a hole in the backyard. (The one side of our house is just small gravel and dirt which we haven't figured out what to do with yet. Eventually it will hold our boat/trailer/ATV/RV.) So he got to work and dug a nice deep hole which proceeded to get deeper each time Hunter requested a bigger, deeper hole.
Those crazy kids played for HOURS with the dirt from that damn hole. Their monster trucks dug holes and made trails. They took PVC pipe and jabbed it into the dirt. And eventually they started throwing the clumps of dirt at the wall. To make it even better, while they were doing that they were singing Jingle Bells. Yup it's still Christmas at our house.

The hole definitely didn't get as much play time as the dirt did. I'm just waiting to see how long it takes for a kid to fall into the thing. Bets anyone?!

Ryan threw out the idea that they should turn the hole into a tunnel to the street. I guess that is the project for next weekend.

More things I never thought I'd say

"Don't throw dirt rocks at your brother's booty! You can only throw them at the wall."

"Do NOT put the dog in the hole!!!!" (while I sped over to rescue poor Indy who was half trapped in the hole.)

Kings for a day

I was cleaning out the crap craft closet and found these paper crowns. The boys immediately donned the crazy things and acted like royalty for the day.

It was great fun. For them, not me! Hunter took to the role quite well and was Mr. Bossy McBoss while Jacob tried so hard to fill the bossy role as well. It was then decided that Hunter was the King and Jacob was the Master. Whatever makes them happy.

Play ball!

Reason #25 to live in Arizona: Spring Training!!

We went to the new baseball fields in Glendale this morning with Simone and Owen and had a blast. The boys loved being able to run around on the grass and play football. Hey, they don't care too much about baseball yet.

When we got there we passed the White Sox practicing and a player threw 2 balls over the fence for the boys. The White Sox aren't accessible to the public at all which is a bummer, but the boys did like watching them go through the tunnel under the sidewalk.

We moseyed, well the boys ran, on over to watch the Dodgers practice. The three of them weren't too thrilled about sitting and watching players hit the ball, no matter how hard they did it.
The Dodgers slowly started coming off the fields to get ready for the day's game and were signing balls. I got Hunter and Jacob to go over to get their balls signed and they did GREAT. Hunter had the knack for getting the players to come over to him.

He'd stand nice and tall with his ball up high and yell, "Will you please sign my ball?!" in a cute little boy voice and they couldn't say no. Some of the ones we got were Jason Schmidt, Casey Blake, Chad Billingsley, Stephen Randolph, and a couple more who didn't put their number next to their name. It was pretty pathetic since we really didn't know anyone so unless I saw the back of their jerseys I had no clue who just signed the ball!

We almost got Manny Ramirez's autograph but we were at the end and he had already signed a bunch before us. Definitely next week! This is our new Friday activity for the month of March.

*check out the Mariachi band in the background. Only in Phoenix!

Science Sunday

Sundays have been our family days and today we decided to tackle making a volcano (this has been sitting in our closet for almost 8 months!). The boys were so excited that they just wanted to see the thing explode. They didn't realize that there was a process to follow first:

Pouring the mold

Painting

Getting your supplies ready for the explosion!

Hunter was so nervous that it was going to be really loud and squirting all over the place.

That was it??

The finished product!
