Brothers

Jacob and Hunter have been getting along so well lately. They are really starting to play together and take care of each other. I love watching them grow closer and can't wait to see what happens next. Some of their favorite things are to chase each other around the house and then hide from me. Hunter has a tendency to be pretty bossy with Jacob but I think that's just par for the course. Today at lunch is a good example of this: Jacob was eating his chips first and not his turkey. Hunter decided to step in and try to take Jacob's chips away so he would eat his turkey...watch out! Never, ever take chips away from Jacob...lol. At least I know that Hunter is always looking out for Jacob...right?! :)

Phone Conversation

Hunter and Jacob have been into the cordless phones around the house for the past couple of days. I was making dinner the other night and Jacob was pretending to talk on the phone...

Jacob: chattering away on the phone, occasionally saying "hi"

Me: Jacob, who are you talking to?

Hunter (sounding like I'm a moron for not knowing): Shrek and Fiona

Me: Huh, ok. Jacob (trying to get a response from him), who are you talking to?

Hunter (very exasperated): Moooooom I told you, Shrek and Fiona!

I will say that we never have a lack of imagination in our house!

First Day of Preschool!

Yesterday (Tuesday, August 14) was Hunter's first day of preschool and I think he had a great time. He's going to a home preschool called Foundation Early Learning. The 2 teachers are sisters and both have their degrees in education. Hunter was excited that morning as we packed his backpack (preschool folder and apples for his snack) and got his water bottle ready. When we pulled up, his teacher, Miss Lou Lou, was there waiting for him. He got out and went with her no problems at all.

Jacob loved hanging out with Mama all morning and getting all of the attention. We played tools and hide n seek, finger painted, and tried to watch Devil Wears Prada (he wasn't too interested in that).

When we picked Hunter up, he came running out with a smile on his face. They must have just gotten done playing outside because his face was red and sweaty. He told me that he played outside and got to see the turtles. He also said that he had gummy bears for a snack! You want to win Hunter over...bring on the candy. We asked him if he met any friends and his response, "There was a boy named Brayden." Great :) Hopefully tomorrow we'll get more information out of him!
