Throwing and Jumping

We went swimming over at Grandma and Grandpa's house for Memorial Day. After our cold spell the water was quite cool despite of the cover they had on so I didn't even attempt to get it. Grandpa kept telling me it was 88 degrees but I didn't believe him.

The 3 boys had a great time and all were completely worn out. Hunter and Jacob put Ryan to work between throwing them, swimming the length of the pool with the boys on his back, and jumping in together.

We finally had to force the boys out of the pool after 45 min or so because their lips were turning purple from being so cold...see the mama knows when to stay out of the pool.

Jacob is telling his horsey to go that way!

Flag Football

Here's the Funk version of flag football. And yes, they're wearing sweatpants in May...we had a cold spell!

It's all about the Wii Fit

So we got another game for our Wii called Wii Fit and it's so much fun. It has gotten us up and moving from the couch and the competition is pretty good too (I am the reining ski jump champ!). Hunter and Jacob seem to like it too...their favorite games so far are ski jumping and hitting soccer balls with their heads.

Happy Graduation Hunter!

Hunter has graduated from his first year of preschool! He goes to an at home preschool that is taught by 2 sisters who were former teachers. We LOVE it there! His teachers, Miss Addie and Miss Lou Lou, are wonderful and they love Hunter. He did so great there this year and has grown so much. I can't wait to see what next year holds for him.

At his graduation they sang songs, signed the abcs, and showed us their zoophonics. Everyone enjoyed cupcakes and lots of fun in the bouncers. It was so fun to see some of the things they have been working on since Hunter is mute when it comes to talking about school.

Waiting for Daddy

Ryan went to California for a 3 day business trip this week and the boys and I went to pick him up at the airport. Every airplane we saw I got a very excited, "Mommy an airplane!"
His plane was late, so we had an hour to kill which was spent mostly in the parking garage watching airplanes. The boys were super excited to see Ryan coming out of security and are definately glad to have Daddy home.

What happens when it gets "cold" in May

We thought it would be fun to go to the park yesterday since it was supposed to be cooler and overcast. There was a "chance of rain" but we all know that in Arizona that means no rain. Well yesterday afternoon that chance of rain became lots of wind and a little shower.

Thankfully we had blankets in so Nicole and Simone (who were wearing tank tops?!) could be warm...lol.

All the kids were so freezing so after sitting outside in the wind and rain for 20 min waiting for it to blow over we decided to head to McDonalds to finish our playdate.

*This little "storm" lasted maybe 30-45 min and got to the mid 60s, but that is freezing when it's been in the 90s for the past couple of weeks!*

Boys and their doughnuts

As a special treat, Ryan will bring home doughnuts on his way home from the paper route. When the boys wake up they get SO excited to have doughnuts and get a tad silly.

Swimming again!

We've been swimming on and off for about a month now, between lessons and our friend's house. The boys just had 6 lessons through Litchfield Park Rec and they did pretty good. Hunter is turning into a fish and can swim using big arms and legs and actually go somewhere! On the last day Jacob was finally able to get his legs out of the water to kick and move.

Lessons start up again next month through Surprise and I'm hoping they both make big strides this summer to be independent swimmers!!
During Jacob's lessons, Hunter loved jumping off the side and then swimming back to the side.
